Today
is another day.
Don’t spend it looking back
because today only happens once.
Today deserves to be a day of it’s own
Not to be shared with a day in the past
because when you look back,
you bring yesterday into today.
Don’t look back on what could’ve been,
It doesn’t help you to move forward
and it doesn’t make it any easier.
Don’t wish for something
That you can’t go back to
Because the here and now
is the only thing
we have any control of.
The future is never a promise…
So cherish today,
because today…
you woke up
Today you got up.
To live another day
A chance to fix mistakes
or to learn from them
To do something that you
didn’t do yesterday
Today you can
start something
Finish something
Fix something
Do something good,
Meet someone
say “I love you”
say “I’m sorry”
say “goodbye”
Today you can love
you can hate
you can wait
you can stay
or walk away
Because before you know it…
today becomes another yesterday.
Just another yesterday you
will look back onto tomorrow.
Don’t give tomorrow
another regret to look back on
Live today to the fullest.
Live today as if there’s no tomorrow.
Today is your day.
A blank canvas for you to paint on
A blank page for you to write a story on
Today is a gift
One you were given to live.
Everyone is given the same amount of time
to make the most of today
How you choose to do so,
is up to you.
